The school has a reputation for high quality teaching in Religious Education. The children study Christianity in detail but also learn about, and from, other world religions which include Judaism, Islam, Sikhism and Buddhism.
Religious Education forms a significant part of our curriculum and is taught in an interactive, exciting way.
Standards in Religious Education are high and the children are confidently able to articulate what they have learnt about different faiths. Religious Education focuses on two distinct objectives; ‘Learning about Religion’ and ‘Learning from Religion.’
Every term we organise enriching, themed weeks focusing on an aspect of Christian life. These weeks are Bible based and have followed themes including Parables, Pentecost, The Stations of the Cross, Holy Week, Experience Harvest, Prayer Spaces and Ascension. Each class makes a response in an age-appropriate way.
We hope this gives you a glimpse of what it means for us to be a Church School and how important our Christian ethos is.
